aim
to examine the effects, and the length of time the effects last for, due to energy drink consumption
hypothesis
drinks with higher sugar/carbohydrate levels will act faster but last shorter than those with lower levels
equipment
various energy drinks
- red bull
- sports drinks
- the new "shots" that are no out
(proposed) method
- gather the energy depending on my budget on the day
- measure the heart rate of the subjects
NOTE the subject wont eat anything a hour prior to the experiment. mean yes. im sorry future subject(s). - measure the heart rate at different, yet constant, time intervals. (might have to ask round for something that can help me measure the heart rate every two minutes or so)
- when the heart rate increases, record the minute or time it does and how long the increased heart rate lasts for ie write down the time it takes from when the heart rate starts to increase to the time it returns to original rate.
- keep recording for a few minutes (just incase the rate decreases which would be interesting. the much talked bout "high and low" cycle)
- repeat with different subjects and different drinks
yes it needs more fine detail. im working on it.
